About our LUDSS charities

You voted, we listened and the charities we are raising money for this year are as follows:

Dentaid

http://www.dentaid.org/
Dentaid is one of the leading oral health charities in the world, having supported 210 oral health programmes in 58 countries. In recent years, the charity has expanded its work from just supplying refurbished dental surgeries for charitable projects, to playing vital roles in oral health promotion.

RASA

http://www.rasamerseyside.org/about.asp

RASA is an independent voluntary organisation and registered charity in Liverpool city centre, providing a safe environment for those affected by domestic and sexual abuse. Last year it had it's funding from the government cut down to 0, so relies fully on donations and volunteer support.

Both charities are very worth while and in need of our support, so we hope to see you at as many of our charity events as possible. Details of forthcoming charity events will be emailed out as and when.

Hello and welcome to LUDSS charity page. Join us for our wonderful charity events throughout the year and do ‘your bit’ for some very worthy charitable causes. It always proves to be great fun an this year we aim to provide an eclectic mix of events to keep thing fun and fresh!

2012 Charity Update;

We are pleased to announce that LUDSS last year raised over 2000 pounds for our chosen charity, ACTS. We hope to achieve a similar feat this year! We have already had a walking weekend away and cake sales. We have given generously to operation Christmas child and taken part in Movember.

It is set to be another busy term: weekend away in January; fashion show; cake sales and this year we hope to attempt the walking the Yorkshire 3 Peaks. If you’d like to be involved please contact Kat Lland, but more details to follow shortly.

What do I do?

Fill a standard size shoebox with some goodies e.g. pens, colouring book, toothpaste, toothbrush (children essentials) and donate £2.50 and drop it off in the common room or online at any time!

Come to the common room today to pick up a leaflet and shoe box!

Lets make a big effort and try to get as many shoeboxes as possible, we've got a minimum target of 50. Get your friends and family involved, even if you can just do one box between a house of friends, every box counts!

For many children your present will be the only present they recieve this Christmas.
