A Summary of 2009/10 - Continued
Our U Animal night, aptly held in Baa Bar involved dental students dressed as animals, a stunt man with his python and tarantula and wishing there was a window open as it was THAT hot! Our last event of the term was our Snow Ball, the new Christmas party, held in Parr St Studios was a raging success, where our chic venue and cheesy Christmas songs got everyone in the spirit and ended in Heebie Jeebies.
2010 opened with the 999 night, again in Revolution which had an enthusiastic turn out from the committee in SWAT gear and 1st years in emergency costume. I enjoyed making the crime scene outlines it must be said.
The year continued with the now defunct Smoker, where we shall just use our memories to think about, and the Annual Dental Ball. The committee did an absolutely AWESOME job (even if I say so myself) and scrubbed up marvellously to eagerly await the students and staff to arrive at the Isla Gladstone Conservatory – a beautiful venue, decorated fabulously. Live tables, fire breathers, delicious food and entertainment that doubled as our servers allowed us all to enjoy the evening and then some.
The final term as well as our final stints as the LUDSS committee with LUDSS got talent and the Handover Meal, which has already been written up by James Hyde, so eat that up!
So I may not have kept this short and snappy like a small crocodile, but the year was so jam-packed with memorable events it couldn’t be helped! All that is left to say is that we really enjoyed being the LUDSS Committee 09/10, we hope you enjoyed the events, and good luck to the newbies, hope you carry on the good work!
Tally ho,
Rhian Workman, (Old) Secretary 09/10.
